The 13th November is World Usability Day and, although the theme this year is Transportation, there is no reason we can't mark the even by improving the usability of our respective blogs. After all, a frustrated reader is unlikely to hang around on your blog for long.
We've got a bit of time before then so I thought I'd suggested a semi-structured approach to improving the usability of our blogs.
Step 1 - Visit my post on
peer reviewing blogs
Step 2 - Leave a note in the comments requesting a peer review
Step 3 - Wait. While waiting I strongly encourage you to review the blogs of others who have requested a review. Feel free to use
my review as a template if you don't know where to start.
Step 4 - Read the feedback you have been given (don't forget to thank those who have reviewed your blog).
Step 5 - Implement any (or all) of the usability related improvements in time for World Usability Day
Step 6 - Share your experiences.
It's as simple as that. This is just an idea. If you have any other suggestions for marking World Usability Day then be sure to let us know in the comments.
