Budding Bloggers Network - Mutual blog help club

When it comes to success, you can’t do it alone – and why would you want to?

Buddy

Did you ever wish you got some help from other bloggers? If yes, what kind of help?

In the beginning, blogging can be exciting, confusing, overwhelming, depressing & intimidating. Some point of time, you might feel you could do with some help. Help in the form of moral support, a pat, appreciation, tips, resources ... and probably wishes & prayers too.

What do you think will be the greatest help?

I think one of those most helpful things is getting a few other sets of eyes running over a blog you might have just put together. It's difficult to find your voice and the first few posts are often a little sketchy. Having a few friends critique the site and give honest feedback is critical.

Shameless plug, but pasted here for a critique ;-) http://besscabiz.wordpress.com . Cheers!

BTW I know most pro bloggers don't use Wordpress.com to host their blogs, but I need to for the time being. I can't for the life of me get Google Analytics to work with it...any wordpress.com experts?

Thanks.

Hi John,

I don't use wordpress.com but here is what I know

Google analytics don't work on wordpress.com blogs coz they r not javascript enabled.
I found 2 links that talk about a hack. Take backup before trying though.

He he he. I've been doing this for a year and a half, and I'm still not sure what my voice is! Sometimes I'm political, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes sentimental. I think I'm Sybil.

Does it bug readers as much as it bugs me or is variety good? Dunno! What do you think? http://9to5to9.debralegg.com/

I worked it out. It's not that Javascript isn't enabled (although you don't have quite the access to plugins etc that you do in a host-your-own wordpress blog arrangement). It's because of the fact that they already run Google Analytics to monitor Wordpress.com usage more broadly and Google doesn't permit two instances of the Analytics code on one page...

Of course when I discovered this, I had to post about it. ;)

I've got the feedburner stats enabled but haven't explored those yet. I will.

Cheers.

The thing I am struggling with the most at the moment is increasing user interactiveness. I want users to post comments!
